This past October our family had the amazing opportunity to travel to France and go on an epic adventure. Our daughter has written and illustrated a book about our trip. It's a chapter book which at 7 years old she is pretty darn proud of. But as we all know as parents...there's only about a sentence or two on each page so it doesn't take long to read! (wink wink)
She is an entrepreneur at heart just like her momma and wants to sell the book. I love that she always wants to make things to sell and to raise money for various things and organizations. This past summer she did a lemonade stand to raise money to buy a brick for the Sarah Becket Memorial playground.
We sat down as a family and we talked about how she could do this and about raising money for something that means a lot to us.
We sadly know too many people both within our family and close friends who have gone through cancer. Lucy has learned about this through the Terry Fox run each year at school as well and so we decided that she would sell her book and raise money for cancer research.
